About Us

Jamie Ceasar is a published film photographer from Columbus, Ohio. He has been inspired by great film shooters of the past like Gordon Parks and Don Hogan Charles, and by modern film photographers like Deana Lawson and Jamel Shabazz. The emotion and storytelling represented in portrait and documentary photography drive his creativity in both those styles. He believes photography to be so powerful because of the moments, places, and people that may have never been seen if it were not for photographers. Film photography is his medium of choice because it allows him to feel apart of his work. The process of bringing an image to life from start to finish adds to his love for the art. Jamie has also won awards for his photography, most notably being the Art Unites CBUS award granted by the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

In 2022, Jamie Ceasar established The Film Cypher, a project centered on film photography that unites enthusiasts, professionals, and various other creatives to connect, collaborate, and build friendships. While film is the primary focus, the overall passion is photography, and everyone is welcome to participate. The Film Cypher currently organizes photowalk events throughout the year and is expanding to include educational content on film photography through film and camera reviews.
